Lake Of Autumn

　 　I can still remember clearly now when the story began. The autumn leaves were alighting onto the ground, covering the lake, where we used to frolic and swim like children under the sun. That time we were happy – at least, I thought so. But the truth was that you had been longing to leave me, not daring to tell me. In that beautiful night, watching the lake, I seemed to hear you say: “Our story is ending.”

　　The rain was stifling the last days of summer, while you had been killing my last breath of love, since a long time ago. I don’t think I can have another love story. You took everything away from me. And here I stand quietly; I know I am going to be the one forsaken by love. Still watching the lake, in a trance, I know my life is withering away.
