Oslo(Associated Press)-The Norwegian government announced on 9 February, that a large “oasis cave” will be built in the mountain from March in North Pole. The “oasis cave” preserve over three million seeds of known plants, and it would be the “Noah’s Ark” of the human granary. If the Earth is attacked by the destructive disasters, for example the nuclear war or planet striking, people could plant cereals from the beginning.

The seed bank called Svalbard Global Seed Vault, about 1,000km north of mainland Norway’s the mountain of Svalbard archipelago, was chosen as the location for the vault, at the cost of about five million U.S.dollars, is expected to be next year ready for use.
The seed vault will be built 120m inside a deep mountain that connect the tunnel with the outside world, the tunnels and caves construction are made by concrete.All the seed samples will be stored at -18C.Even if the equipment fails, at least the surrounding permafrost will be provided the natural refrigeration.The caves with two storage holes, covering an area of 360 square each.

It can preserve over three million seeds of known plants, and it could be the “Noah’s ark” of the human’s food provision. If the Earth is destroyed by the destructive disasters, like the war of nucleon or planet striking, human could start from the beginning and plant cereals.

According China News Service(CNS) on 10 February, the seed bank, called Svalbard International Seed Vault, will be established in the mountains of Svalbard archipelago, about 1000 kilometers north of Norway. It takes about 5 million US dollars, and it is scheduled to open next year. The seed bank which is connected by the tunnel to the outside world is built in a 120-meter deep mountain. The tunnel and the inside wall of the cave were made of concrete. The seed samples will be stored in the conditions of -18℃. Even if the refrigeration system fails, the surrounding permafrost can still provide the natural freezing. There are two storerooms in the cave, and each one has 360 square meters.

According to CNS on February 10th, the seed bank called "Svalbard International Seed Bank," will be built in a mountain of Svalbard archipelago which is about 1,000 km from the north of mainland Norway, at a cost of about 5 million U.S. dollars, is expected to be ready for use next year. The seed bank will be buried in a 120 meters deep mountain, connected with the outside world by tunnels. In addition, the inside walls of tunnel and vault will be built by steel-reinforced concrete. According to a China News Services (CNS) report on February 10, the seed bank is called “Svalbard International Seed Vault ", which will be built in a mountainside of the Svalbard archipelago. It is near the north mainland of Norway about 1000 kilometers. The Norwegian government has cost about five million U.S. dollars, which is expected to ready for using next year. The seed vault sits at the end of a 120-meter inside the mountain. Not only the tunnel and the wall of cavern are made of concrete but also the tunnel connects with external world. All seed samples are stored up -18 degrees Celsius. Even if a refrigeration system didn’t malfunction, the area’s permafrost would supply the natural refrigeration effect.
